Ngaire's open communication is fundamental to running a successful business and meaningful client relationships, ensuring that integrity is the cornerstone of our culture at Gisler Architects (2017) Ltd.  Having started her career working in banking for 17 years, and then managing large businesses in the engineering and transport sector for over 20 years before moving to Gisler Architects, Ngaire has proven expertise enabling teams to reach their full potential. A natural leader, Ngaire has enjoyed creating an engaging atmosphere at the Gisler Architects office, where the team brainstorms ideas and collaborates on a project to create innovative and effective solutions.

With a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning and a PhD in Urban Design, Andrew is at the forefront of the architectural design industry in both practical and academic fields. Specialising in sustainable architecture, passive energy design, and innovative learning facilities, Andrew brings invaluable expertise from lecturing and leading extensive projects in New Zealand and overseas. Andrew is passionate about providing architectural design solutions that are accessible to everyone, so all New Zealanders can design and build their dream home.

Star Chen
Star Chen

BAS, NDAT, Architectural Designer & Project Manager

Star enjoys taking a project from concept to completion, and subsequent onsite Project Management. He is passionate about 3D visualisation, rendering and presentation. Star has over 15 years project delivery experience in Commercial, Community, Apartments, Residential & Interior Design, Currently Star is working in the Educational Sector. His passion and design philosophy are centred on key insights into the client brief, and site and context, and believes in responsible design decisions that will make a positive impact on the next generation. Star's creative 3D visualisation enables clients and other consultants to better understand the project, early on in the design stage.

Mari Woodhead-Novak

NZDAT Architectural Technician

With expertise in graphic design, Mari brings clients’ visions to life with cutting edge 3D architectural designs. Mari, our Lead Architectural Technician at Gisler Architects, specializes in the design of Modern Learning Environments for the Ministry of Education and the Catholic Integrated Schools Office. Mari is also the client-facing architect keeping projects on-track and on-budget, supporting clients and other stakeholders with open and reliable communication.

Greg Shotton
Greg Shotton

NZCD Arch., CATE Architectural Technician

Greg lives and breathes architectural design, with over forty years leading projects of diverse size, scope, and budget across the commercial, education, and residential sectors. Greg’s leading expertise is reflected in his past position as a lecturer of Architectural Technology at Wintec Waikato Institute Planning, where he taught and assessed commercial and residential design and documentation modules. Greg has specialised in documentation of complex education and commercial buildings, and his experience working for the Education Board supports our position as a leading partner for school projects.

NZDAT Architectural Technician

Simon is the most recent addition to Gisler’s Architectural Technicians, but swiftly became a key member of the team by creating the office’s social club. Simon is passionate about the outdoors, and when he’s not applying his technical expertise to a project he can be found mountain biking, tramping, or camping in the wilderness. As a quick learner, Simon keeps a keen eye on innovative architectural design technology, ensuring that the business is constantly evolving with changing environments and client needs.

NZDAT Architectural Technician

Matt’s impressive background includes running the family farm and winning multiple awards for designing and building boats. After completing the New Zealand Diploma in Architectural Technology, Matt’s passion and creativity led him to join Gisler Architects as an Architectural Technician. As a natural networker, Matt takes pride in the sound relationships he has built with clients, contractors, and suppliers to enable delivery of superb architectural outcomes. When he’s not in the office, Matt enjoys sports and outdoor adventures with his partner and their five children.

Office Projects Administrator

A passionate creative, Tanya moved from Auckland to join the Gisler Architects team in the Waikato and immerse herself in the world of architectural design. Fluent in software programmes and marketing strategies, Tanya nurtures a broad network of clients and creates events that celebrate the team’s success. Tanya is a natural communicator and team player, and by maintaining Gisler Architect’s welcoming and ambitious environment she helps the team deliver world class services to clients.

Sharon Garrick
Sharon Garrick

Projects Hub Manager

With over 40 years of expertise in project management and administration, Sharon’s knowledge and self-motivation allows Gisler Architects to sustain a world-class standard across all projects. Sharon manages the administration of all business operations, ensuring correct policies and procedures are adhered to and projects are on-track. Time management is also important for Sharon outside the office, as she balances sports and community volunteering with looking after her 12 grandchildren.
