Educational
Gisler Architects specialises in providing architectural services to the education sector in the greater Waikato and Bay of Plenty areas and have been involved in educational architecture continuously since 1993 with Tim Gisler's involvement in education work commencing in 1986 with Halstead & Adams.
We are well known for providing excellent architecture into the education sector. We provide innovative architectural outcomes, which allow students and staff to reach for their greatest potential – our school environs are stimulating places for the users to work and learn in.
We work with the Board of Trustees and the Ministry of Education to provide modern facilities which meet all the Ministry's guidelines for students, staff, provision of curriculum, special needs, technology and health & safety.
Our experience has covered the full range of school buildings, including administration and student services blocks, general and specialist classrooms, libraries, laboratories, technology and information technology spaces, halls, performing arts / music & drama centres and Wharenui, at primary, intermediate and secondary school level.
Project Management
A large portion of our role as Architects includes Project Management. This involves all aspects of administering the construction contract and includes regular onsite meeting with the project partners, client and consultant liaison as well as the assessing and approving of progress payment claims. This covers the project manager's role as required in the Ministry of Education guidelines and removes the need for a separate project manager to be engaged,
With our knowledge of the design and construction process we are able to address issues as they occur and can offer relevant solutions saving time and expense.
Strategic Planning
Gisler Architects is heavily involved in the planning of future development within schools. This takes the form of development plans and 5 & 10 year property plans.
Development plans are often produced for larger school projects where a future direction is needed to guide current projects.
Curriculum growth and technology advances can create a challenge for school Boards of Trustees to plan (and budget) for these needs well in to the future. We understand this can be overwhelming and are able to assist by working with the Board of Trustees to develop a specific plan towards your schools future growth.
We can visit your school to assess and discuss your maintenance and capital works requirements then provide good quality, cost effective architectural solutions to address the needs of your students and staff that meet the Ministry's guidelines.
5 & 10 Year Property Plans
Once the above has been discussed we will then provide you with a financial plan that reflects this meeting and work through this with you and your Board of Trustees in partnership.
